Stephanie Saathoff


Stephanie Saathoff leads the team in developing long-term strategy, major wins and short-term results for clients with government, community, and media relations needs. She has successfully tackled complex projects in the City of San Diego and County of San Diego for more than 20 years, delivering results for a wide variety of projects, procurements and regulatory decisions.


A San Diego native and Padres fan, Stephanie started her career with the Holiday Bowl and San Diego International Sports Council before joining Carpi & Clay.  She became President and Owner of The Clay Company in 2010.  She currently is involved with the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation, and Rotary Club of San Diego.


Denise Zellmann-Price

Senior Vice President

Denise brings 20 years’ experience working in government, at both the state and local levels, uniquely blended with community relations, communication and advertising skills.

Throughout the years, Denise has served on various boards and commissions including the San Diego State University Alumni Board, South County Economic Development Council, I Love A Clean San Diego, Citizen’s Coordinate for Century 3, California Women Lead, Your Safe Place Foundation and was appointed by former Speaker Villaraigosa to serve the California Domestic Violence Program Advisory Council.

Denise was born and raised in San Diego and lives in Mission Hills.


Debbie Lindner

Chief Operating Officer

Debbie Lindner has held many business positions focused on driving strong organizational processes, developing team engaging protocols all leading to the success of each organization she has worked with. She currently is the COO at Clay Company. Several of her event management positions include the PGA Farmers Insurance Open, NFL Media Party at Super Bowls XXXII & XXXVII, Mesa Distributing special projects, Director of Development for United Cerebral Palsy in LA and Assistant Executive Director for Holiday Bowl and San Diego Sports Commission.

She is very involved in the San Diego community philanthropically, offering a significant endowment at San Diego State University’s Fowler School of Business along with actively engaging on the SDSU Athletic Committee, and the SD Police Foundation Council.


Debbie received her Masters of Science Business Education degree at James Madison University. She has been married to Mark Lindner for more than 27 years and has lived in San Diego for over 20 years as well as living in Boston, Chicago, Milwaukee, Los Angeles, and NY Metro area.


Tana Lorah

Vice President

Tana Lorah joined ClayCo as a vice president and public affairs strategist in 2021. Tana brings strong expertise in government relations, community engagement and communications strategies to serve her clients in the Southern California region.


Prior to joining ClayCo, Tana served in a variety of public affairs leadership roles for eleven years at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego and Los Angeles with primary responsibility for government, community affairs, community health initiatives, and external communications. Over her career, she has successfully supported projects at the local, state, and federal level, including more recently health policy, hospital construction planning, and land use projects.


Tana is currently serving as secretary of the board of directors for the San Diego Regional EDC Foundation and as a board member of 2-1-1 San Diego. She served for three terms on the Kearny Mesa Planning Group until 2021. Tana lives in the City of San Diego with her family and a tiny coterie of rescued pets.


Nikki Clay

Strategic Counsel

Nikki Clay provides experienced, results-oriented advice to clients with major projects and complex approval, regulatory and procurement needs. Nikki led the San Diego office of Carpi & Clay for nearly 15 years, and prior to that was Senior Vice President of the public affairs division of Stoorza Ziegaus & Metzger.

She currently serves on the Board of The Old Globe and the SDSU Campanile Foundation Board. She is also past Chair of the Downtown San Diego Partnership, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the San Diego Bowl Game Association (Holiday Bowl), and is still serving on the boards of those
