Stephanie Saathoff
President
Stephanie Saathoff leads the team in developing long-term strategy, major wins and short-term results for clients with government, community, and media relations needs. She has successfully tackled complex projects in the City of San Diego and County of San Diego for more than 20 years, delivering results for a wide variety of projects, procurements and regulatory decisions.
A San Diego native and Padres fan, Stephanie started her career with the Holiday Bowl and San Diego International Sports Council before joining Carpi & Clay. She became President and Owner of The Clay Company in 2010. She currently is involved with the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation, and Rotary Club of San Diego.
Denise Zellmann-Price
Senior Vice President
Denise brings 20 years’ experience working in government, at both the state and local levels, uniquely blended with community relations, communication and advertising skills.
Throughout the years, Denise has served on various boards and commissions including the San Diego State University Alumni Board, South County Economic Development Council, I Love A Clean San Diego, Citizen’s Coordinate for Century 3, California Women Lead, Your Safe Place Foundation and was appointed by former Speaker Villaraigosa to serve on the California Domestic Violence Program Advisory Council.
Denise was born and raised in San Diego and lives in Mission Hills.
Nikki Clay
Our Founder
Nikki led the San Diego office of Carpi & Clay until 2010, and served as Strategic Counsel to ClayCo until 2021. She continues to be a leader and passionate advocate for San Diego's civic and community organizations including the Old Globe, San Diego State University Campanile Foundation, Downtown San Diego Partnership, San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce and LEAD San Diego
